TUPPER LAKE - The Tupper Lake Rotary Club announced that this year's All-Star Football Classic has been canceled due to a lack of participation from the East schools.
Only nine Section VII players committed to play in the annual senior all-star game for the East squad, far short of the 20 needed to fill the roster. A press release stated that "schools like Saranac Lake, Peru and Moriah continued to support the event."
The game is for recently graduated seniors from Section VII and Section X North Country schools. After winning last year's installment at Frank Tice Field 14-13, the West team evened the overall series at 4-4.
No decision has been made about attempting to bring back the game next year.
