SARANAC LAKE - Bernard Sauvie, 65, of 30 Margaret St., Saranac Lake, died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Adirondack Medical Center.

Born in Ogdensburg on May 10, 1947, he was the son of John and Clara (Dashnaw) Sauvie. Bernard married Leona E. Christie on June 8, 1985, at St. Bernard's Church by the Rev. C.J. McAvoy.

Bernie is a long time resident of Saranac Lake. He loved to listen to Irish music and loved to do woodworking.

He is survived by his wife Leona Sauvie of Saranac Lake; one brother Roger Sauvie of Buffalo; and two sister-in-laws: Frances Orne and her husband Don North Prairie, Wisc. and Sheila Weiner and her husband Lee of Florence, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his father; mother; his sister, Mary Waters; and two brothers: Floyd "Sonny" and Paul Sauvie.

Calling hours will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A funeral service will immediately follow on Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. C.J. McAvoy officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
