SARANAC LAKE - The framed watercolor painting seen at right, "Mary's Flower Box," is one of 60 prizes that are part of the "Taste of the Good Life" raffle currently being held to raise funds for local scholarships.
Tickets may be purchased at Kinney Drugs and Coakley High Peaks Ace Hardware from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturdays through June 9, from WCSC members, and at Maurice's Beauty Salon and the I. B. Hunt, a Division of Gordon W. Pratt Inc. Agency, during business hours.
Tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5. Listen to WNBZ 1240 AM on Mondays, June 4, 11 and 18, at 8:50 a.m. The drawing will take place on the air at those times, and the winners will be announced as they are drawn. Winners will be called in that order Monday starting at 6 p.m. to select their prize. All undrawn tickets remain in the drawing until the final one.

Ticket holders have a chance to win more than 60 prizes, including generous cash prizes each week, a two-night stay at a lakeside cabin and numerous gift certificates from local restaurants and businesses.
This year the club will award five $800 scholarships to Saranac Lake High School seniors and three $1,000 scholarships to local continuing education students, for a total of $7,000.
Many of the prizes are on display in the window of the I.B. Hunt Agency at 84 Main St. Founded in 1939, the Scholarship Club is made up of women from all walks of life who share an interest in promoting greater access to college for people in the Saranac Lake area. New members are always welcome. WCSC members are very grateful to all private and business donors for helping to make this a successful event.
