Essex County officials will be in AuSable Forks this week to help residents pursue buyouts for flood-damaged property.
Jay town Supervisor Randy Douglas, chairman of the Essex County Board of Supervisors, said anyone who sent the Federal Emergency Management Agency a letter of intent for its property buyout program should attend.
"This is specifically for people who need help filling out their application," Douglas said.
Mike Mascarenas, director of the Essex County Office of Community Resources, will be at the Town of Jay Community Center's gymnasium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Douglas said.
Douglas said more than 70 homeowners in Essex County have submitted letters of intent for the buyout program. Last week, FEMA began sending out applications to those people.
