PAUL SMITHS - The Paul Smith's College men's basketball team won its third game in a row Tuesday with a 70-47 victory over Word of Life Bible Institute.

The Bobcats took control early and went into halftime ahead 40-18.

"I am pleased with the result, but thought we could have played a lot better overall," said Paul Smith's coach Joe Akey. "It is a nice win and one we can still take things from to get better."

Chib Belonwu and Stephen Edwards each scored 17 points and Devon Carr chipped in 11 to lead the Bobcats offensively. Belonwu also pulled down 12 rebounds, while Alex Medina collected six points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals.

Paul Smith's hits the road this weekend for the 12-hour drive to Maine, where the Bobcats will take on University of Maine-Machias on Saturday and Sunday. The weekend games will have direct implications for the Yankee Small College Conference playoff seeding.

Paul Smith's is 8-14 overall and 5-9 in conference games.
