January 19, 2012
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

SCHENECTADY - Price Chopper Supermarkets has issued a voluntary recall on some of its Coyote Joe's Shredded Taco Cheese due to the possibility of shredded plastic fragments inside the packaging.

The cheese being recalled is the 16-ounce size and has an expiration date of April 21, 2012, and a UPC code 41735-12509. It was sold chain-wide between Jan. 4 and 17.

In addition to alerting the media, Price Chopper has initiated its Smart Reply notification program, which uses purchase data and consumer phone numbers on file in connection with the company's AdvantEdge card to alert those households that may have purchased the product in question.

Customers can return the product to their local Price Chopper, including the Lake Placid store, for a full refund. For more information, visit the website or call Price Chopper at 1-800-666-7667, option 3, between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.
