LAKE PLACID - Mercy Care for the Adirondacks, a mission sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, has been awarded a grant by the Frances L. Carpenter Foundation. The grant will support Mercy Care's mission and programs to enhance the fullness of life of elders living in their own homes.

"The Frances L. Carpenter Foundation grant is helping elders overcome obstacles to leading as full a life as possible and stay engaged in their community," said Paul Reiss, president of the Mercy Care Board.

The grant helps to support 70 Volunteers and 10 Parish Nurses in their work to provide friendship, companionship, and assistance to their elder neighbors.

Mercy Care for the Adirondacks is located at 185 Old Military Road, Lake Placid, NY 12946. For more information, please visit Mercy Care's web site at www.adkmercy.org
