By DEBORAH DONALDSON , Adirondack Daily Enterprise

The third annual Rockin' for Rett will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at Tucker Farms on Hobart Road in Gabriels.

Cost is $5 for the event. If you wish to go through the corn maze, that will be extra.

The following are just some of the amazing gifts and auction items that will be given away that day: Apple IPod, Nintendo Wii, American girl doll of the year, hand-crafted items from local people, camping package, including the tent, Craftsman 260 piece machanist tool set, many, many gift certificates and gift cards from local business.

When you arrive between 11:30 a.m. and noon, there will be a special drawing, with those tickets, for a $100 certificate to Casa Del Sol.

There will be plenty of food with a BBQ, bake sale, kettle corn, etc. This year, the music will be provided by: Major's, Steve Borst, Austin Larabie, Pine Ridge Rounders, Bees Kneez, Urban Fetch and Phil Henry.

In the past two years, Jen and Mark Dalton, the parents of Emma, plus the rest of the Dalton family have raised more than $44,000, which has gone towards research for the Rett Syndrome Foundation. The Dalton family is looking forward to seeing the community come out for this event and hoping that they will all really enjoy themselves. They appreciate all your help.

Around five years ago, in my column I spoke about a girl named Gabby Cunningham who was two and one half years old at that time. She had cancer and was going to Burlington for treatments. She has been going to Burlington for check-up the past years every six months and the last one was the best yet. Everything is normal and at seven and one half years old Gabby will not have to go back for another year. Thank you to one and all for all the prayers for Gabby. They helped. Gabby is the daughter of Tom and Jill Cunningham and granddaughter of John and Mary Peria of Lake Clear.
