George "Chip" and Cathy Button are the proud owners of a 1914 Model "T" Depot Hack, which has won them many prizes. The latest one was an invitation to go to City Hall Plaza in Boston on Oct. 1. There they will be part of the Cruisin' New England magazine car show.
But in order to get there, Chip needs to rent a trailer to get the "T" to Boston. So we are looking for donations to help the cause. Either give them to Chip or Cathy, or mail checks made out to Chip Button or cash to P.O. Box 277, Lake Clear, NY 12945. Your generous donations will be much appreciated.
Chip and Cathy Button take the "T" to Curtis Lumber, where the Tri-Lakes Cruize Club car show is every Tuesday starting at 6:30 p.m. So if you would like to get a first-hand look at this remarkable car, stop by. There are usually vintage, classic, custom cars there for show. The drivers are very interesting to talk to. This past Tuesday there were around 35 cars available to look at.
Chip gave me a couple of dates for upcoming car shows. The Olympic Car Show held on the Olympic Oval to benefit the Lake Placid Ski Club will be Sunday, Sept. 4. There will be a parade through town before. Starting at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, the first annual car show will be held at Holy Name School in AuSable Forks. There will be a parade before, starting at 10 a.m.
