ALBANY (AP) - A long stretch of the New York State Thruway between Albany and Syracuse remains closed due to flooding.

Officials say a 117-mile section of the highway remains closed eastbound between Exit 34A at Chittenango and Exit 25A near Schenectady.

Westbound lanes remain closed for 61 miles between Exit 25A and Exit 30 in Herkimer.

State police say many roads in the eastern half of the state are affected by flooding and travel is difficult.
