Swollen by Tropical Storm Irene, the East Branch of the AuSable River surged over its banks and rolled down state Route 9N in Upper Jay Sunday, flowing through the hamlet's firehouse and library, and reportedly razing the Land of Makebelieve, a former theme park designed by Arto Monaco, who also designed Santa's Workshop in Wilmington.

A Mercedes is buried upside-down among broken trees and debris from houses Monday in Upper Jay.
