One thing is for sure and that is hosting an event draws people from all over and helps the local economy. This new exciting event happening August 29 through Sept. 1, 2011 called the Adirondack Senior Open will draw an affluent crowd of PGA golfers and participants to the area. It is a 3-day pro-am event organized by professional golfer Tom Eubank. It will not only be a fun time, but proceeds will benefit the Adirondack Carousel.
This event will offer adults an opportunity to play as an individual or team with PGA golfers for the 3 days, as well as participate in the junior clinics for adults and young people. For a full team in the pro-am with three players it is a total of $850 and for an individual player it is only $295.
If you love golf then you might want to reserve your spot now. If you love the Adirondack Carousel, you might want to become a business sponsor of teams or a hole. Either way, it is a fun way to support the Adirondack Carousel & Community Center that will be a multi-purpose facility to educate, entertain and support families in the Tri-Lakes region. The project has broken ground and will be an attraction to the area with its custom-carved Adirondack native animals, new playground, and community rooms located at William Morris Park, next to the Adirondack Scenic Railroad.
Ruthie's Run at 2415 Main St. in Lake Placid is donating 10 percent of all purchases made between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4 to the Adirondack Carousel. So, check out one of the carved Carousel wildlife figures in the window while browsing the newest fall fashions and enjoying the refreshments.
Both the Lake Placid News and Adirondack Daily Enterprise are giving the opportunity to show your support. For every new subscriber, we will donate half of the subscription price to the Carousel.
We hope you will get involved by playing golf with the professionals or sponsoring teams or holes. For more information contact Charity Pro-Am Tour, 110 Prominence Point Parkway, Suite 114-203, Canton, GA 30114. E-mail Tom Eubanks at Tom@CharityProAmTour.com or call 404-944-9988.
