Things are looking up for Lake Placid now that its copper-clad convention center can host large groups in its 90,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space. The Conference Center at Lake Placid offers flexible meeting space, state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and connections necessary for business meetings.
While the grand opening was held Tuesday, June 21, the Conference Center had been hosting groups as early as mid-May. The grand opening showcased to locals a spectacular spread of food on all three floors from its full-service kitchen run by Centerplate. Lake Placid restaurants should not see this as competition but a complement in drawing more visitors to the area in the future. The views from the Conference Center of the expansive Adirondack surroundings would entice any visitor to return to absorb a deeper experience in exploring downtown businesses and other amenities of the area.
We think the Conference Center will create a real economic boost to the Tri-Lakes area and is something to proudly tout to people we know in businesses, nonprofit groups and organizations outside this area. It is in the best interest of all our communities to promote the Conference Center at Lake Placid to potential users, knowing those who come for conventions here will return with their friends and family for years to come.

As an incentive to do this, the Conference Center is also offering prizes, from an iPad to ski passes, if you refer a group that books a convention here. Congratulations to the team that coordinated such a huge project - a green building completed on schedule and even under budget.
