The Adirondack Presbyterian church will be holding its joint worship service at the Lake Clear church, located on Route 30 in Lake Clear, at 10:45 a.m. for the month of July. Worship service will be followed by cofffe hour. All are welcome and bring a friend.

The Lake Clear Presbyterian church will host a benefit concert put on by Roy Hurd at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10. Cost is $10 per person at the door. This will be a fundraiser for the church. Come and enjoy a wonderful preformer. Bring a friend or two.

St. John in the Wilderness church will have a change in its Mass schedule starting with July 4. Starting that day, Mass will be held at the Fish Creek Campsite at 8 a.m. In case of rain, the meeting will be back in St. John in the Wilderness church at 8:15 a.m. Mass. On Thursday, Mass will be at 8:30 a.m. also at St. John. Gabriels Assumption will hold its Mass at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. St. Pauls in Bloomingdale will have an Anticipated Mass at 4 p.m. Saturday. All are welcome to attend any of these and bring a friend.

St. John in the Wilderness church will once again have its annual raffle with the drawing the last Sunday in August. Stay tuned as there will be more about this in the next column.

There will be a card party at St. John in the Wilderness church hall starting at 1 p.m. the third Sunday in July.

The bookmobile will be at the Lake Clear post office parking lot, I assume, from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 20.

The Lake Clear seniors will be going to the senior picnic in Burke on Wednesday, July 21. For more information about sharing rides, getting there, please call Mary Wirsing at 891-3469.

Bentley and Irene Darling, former Lake Clear residents, were in the area recently visiting. They spent time with family and friends. Bentley and Irene currently reside in Deltona, Fla. It was good to see you both.

Congratulations to Ashley Crider, of Lake Clear, who was named to the dean's list at Cazenovia College. Ashley's major is international relations and humanitarian aid. She is the daughter of Steve and Debra Crider of Lake Clear.

Proud grandparents Mickey and Nonie Webb wish to announce their granddaughter, Haley McDougall, 17, who has just completed her junior year at Saratoga Springs High School, has been selected to compete in the Summer Junior Olympics at Virginia Beach on June 24 through June 27. She will also compete at the Summer Empire State Games from July 21 to 25 in Buffalo. She plays the position of goalie in field hockey.

St. Pauls/Assumption Town of Brighton Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 1. There will be available food and some gently used clothing. For more information, please call Barbara Marshall at 327-3297.

Tri-Lakes Cruisers with their vintage, classic or custom cars will be across from the Lake Flower boat launch 6:30 p.m. until dark every Tuesday. Stop by and enjoy these great cars. For more information call Ben Kline at 572-6132.

The American Legion Men No. 447 will hold its meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 6. This will be at the Vets Club. Members are encouraged to attend.

Reminder, there will be a card party at the St. Armand Town Hall in Bloomingdale at 7 p.m. every Thursday with prizes and refreshments. Call Augie Simpson at 891-4398 for more information.

Senior happenings

The Wellness Center at the Adult Center in Saranac Lake is now open from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Come in and join your friends exercising. Call 891-2980 to make an appointment.

As of right now, I do not have the next date for Gambler's Express to the Casino. If you are interested, call 891-2980 and they will let you know the date.

The Adult Center bus will be taking a "load" of people to the senior picnic in Burke Wednesday, July 21. If you are interested in going along,

please call 891-2980 to make your reservations.

There will be no evening meal held at the Adult Center in July, due to most of the seniors going to the senior picnic in Burke. We will have a BBQ in August. See everyone then.

We would like to send our sympathy to Diane Griffin with the loss of her beloved husband Robert L. (Bobby) Griffin. Bob is survived by two daughters and their families. He is also survived by a large extended family. He will be missed by all.

Sympathy is sent to the family and friends of Ransom H. Duncan. Randy and his beloved wife, Judith reside on Upper St. Regis Lake where they brought their family of five daughters and two sons to live. Daughters Barbara, Laura and Judith all reside in the area. Beth, Melissa and sons Ransom and Graham are out of the area. Randy had quite a sense of humor. He will be missed by all.
