St. Joe’s wins First Place Aid Station at Ironman

August 20, 2009
Adirondack Daily Enterprise
St. Joseph’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers residents and staff celebrate the recognition of their efforts in winning the First Place Aid Station for this year’s Lake Placid IronMan competition. A dozen employees and 38 residents supported the event from Wilmington Bike Aid Station No. 6 providing nourishment and encouragement to approximately 2,200 racers as they made their way back into Lake Placid near the end of the 56-mile bike loop which the riders completed twice during the cycling portion of the event. In addition to the title of First Place Aid Station, St. Joseph’s received a contribution from the World Triathlon Corporation, the company that oversees the Lake Placid competition, for $1,000. The donation will be directed to St. Joseph’s scholarship fund and represents a meaningful way for the current clients who earned the donation to provide for future residents who desire to come to St. Joseph’s.
