Enterprise publisher meets SL native working behind the scenes in NYC

SARANAC LAKE- While in New York City on business in June, Enterprise Publisher Cathy Moore started up a conversation with a stranger.

After a few minutes of talking, she said she found out he wasn't a stranger after all, but a local from Saranac Lake.

Mike Lynch, whose parents were the original owners of Mark's Bar and Grill in Saranac Lake, left the area in the early 1970s. He has worked in Broadway theater ever since.

Mike Lynch, a Saranac Lake native, is now the house electrician for “The Lion King” on Broadway in New York City.

Lynch currently works on the set of "The Lion King" at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway as the house electrician, along with his assistant electricians, his son Joseph and nephew Jerry Lynch (also born in Saranac Lake.)

Moore said "The Lion King" is a "must see" show.

"It was the best Broadway show ever, with costume and puppetry that is genius and stage lighting creating beautiful African ambience," Moore said.
