With all the recent business closings, isn't it wonderful that in Lake Clear we have a new business? Kelly Lindsay has opened Back Yard BBQ at the Junction of routes 30 and 186. She has the cutest small trailer set up with more food in it than you can imagine. Kelly said she purchased the trailer on eBay from a mother and daughter who were retiring from the business. At the Back Yard BBQ she has hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, bloom'n onions, hot soup, a vegetarian menu, soda, coffee and breakfast items including eggs, bacon, yogurt, bagel, etc. Take out is available if you do not wish to sit at the picnic tables there. She will have daily lunch specials, including vegetarian items. Kelly will be open seven days a week 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop by and welcome Kelly to the neighborhood and wish her well.

If you missed the opening of Donnelly's, "Home of the Two-Tone Cone," over Memorial weekend, don't despair. Donnelly's will be open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. until the last full week in June. After that, it will be open all week. It's been a long winter without a soft ice cream cone. Take a ride that's worth it to the corner of routes 86 and 186, and enjoy!

Curt is stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii and is on his third tour in Iraq. He has five months to go when he returns to Iraq to Camp Speicher. His wife Meghan did a tour in Afghanistan from August 2003 to April 2004, before coming home and having their daughter Chasidy in June 2005. Meghan went back to Afghanistan again from March to July 2006. Their son Michael was born in November 2008. Curt has two other children: 10-year-old Kamrun and 9-year-old Logan. As you can imagine, they all miss their father when he is away. Stay safe, Curt, and come home to your family. We all appreciate what you are doing.
