I'll celebrate newspapers when they go back to investigative reporting and stop acting as mouthpieces for corporate and government propaganda.

In celebrating small town newspapers maybe you ought to mention Ogden Newspapers, Wheeling West Virginia, considered an "ultra-conservative" chain that buys up small town newspapers and currently owns ADE. Check it out before you continue to be so self-congratulatory.

I'll start celebrating when Pete doesn't use his own personal opinions on certain issues that he is only getting one side of the story on and print it like it is factual. Alot of times he does not get the facts only on hearsay or what he thinks it is. For awhile there he was having to write an apology everyother day for something that he misquoted or got the wrong information on. Not impressed with his reporting at all!!!

This current editorial and management staff is SOOOooo far away from what Saranac Lake needs, it's to the comical point! Opinion here on this issue.....ride the fence on the important issues....protect personal interests on one issue and condone criminal activity, yet publicize other one-time-run'in's with Front page news. Granted, I am totally critical here and folk may wonder if 'I could do better': well, YES I Can, and will if given the opportunity to report accurate, honest and un-bias sides of the event.
