I'd like to tell the president that I personally would like him to veto any bill that comes before him that has any appropriation in it other than what the bill is for..no pork!! And then he should veto any bill unless it can be shown that it could be paid for without incurring any debt whatsoever. The system is totally broken, we are burdening our children and grandchildren with debt upon debt. The presidency holds veto power, use it! No more back room deals to get a bill passed. We need to do right by the citizens of this country.

Well, IRS will not accept ANY tax returns until Jan 30. What a surprise-that will delay refunds into the period where the debt ceiling will expire. And you know that the IRS probably wouldn't have the funding during an austerity budget to return the refunds to their rightful owners, the taxpayers. Couple of good articles on Reuters today. Especially liked : "IRS officials were asked about the debt ceiling and tax refunds on a conference call Tuesday with businesses. The officials declined to answer specific questions, said sources familiar with the call.". Think a letter to Obama would make him think about the working people in the U.S.?

If you want your letter to be read be sure to include a large check. (true of nearly all national politicians)
