Tupper Lake should challenge once again

Tupper Lake has had one of the top golf teams in Section X in recent years, and this season shouldn’t be any different. “We’re looking at another very strong year,” Tupper Lake coach Steve Skiff said. “We’re certainly looking to challenge for the championship again this year.” The Lumberjacks are returning two of their top golfers: seniors Zach Meade and Scott Delair. Meade is the reigning Section X, Division II most valuable player and the overall Section X champion. Meade has also gone to the state championships the past two years. “I certainly expect a lot from him,” Skiff said. “I know Zach expects a lot from himself. We’re real excited about this year.” Delair was the Lumberjacks’ second-best golfer in the sectional team championships last season, shooting an 84 for 14th overall. Delair was also a member of last year’s Division II All Northern Athletic Conference team. “Scott Delair has just improved steadily over the last couple of years,” Skiff sai.
