Welcome to Embark
The May-June 2009 cover of Embark
There is hardly anything better than spring fishing in the Adirondacks after ice-out and before blackfly season. The metabolism of native brook trout is starting to speed up. The migrating birds are coming back to their home habitats. The snow is mostly gone except for in the highest peaks. In one transformative week or so, bright green leaves sprout from dormant trees. It is the perfect time to start a new publication celebrating outdoor adventures. Embark, brought to you by the publishers of the Adirondack Daily Enterprise and Lake Placid News, will come out every other month. It is distributed free of charge in those newspapers and at outdoor activity hot spots throughout the North Country, or we can mail a subscription to your home for just $10 a year.
