Clinton to speak, try to pull backers to Obama

DENVER (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton was expected to provide crucial support Tuesday for the man who dashed her 2008 presidential dreams, urging holdout supporters in a speech before Democratic powerbrokers to move past her defeat and back Barack Obama in his bid to become the first black president of the United States.
Clinton's ability to deliver a key group of her backers still fuming over the outcome of the fierce nomination battle could spell the difference between victory and defeat for Obama, who will be officially named the party's presidential nominee on Thursday, the last day of the four-day Democratic National Convention.
