Wooden boat show today on Lake Flower
A boat show exhibiting new and antique wooden boats is scheduled to make its debut today on Lake Flower. The “Runabout Rendezvous” is a non-judged event that will feature several dozen crafts, including Adirondack guideboats, a 1929 Richardson Hannah IV, the Century Resorter Trixie and a 1935 Garwood 16-foot Runabout. “We’ll have an eclectic mix of classic and antique boats, newly designed wooden boats, guideboats, everything right down to a floating sauna,” said Carey Sayles of Spencer Boatworks. The event is being organized by Spencer Boatworks and Woodward Boat Shop. More than 30 exhibitors are slated to be on hand, coming from as far away as North Carolina. “These are people interested in wood boats, and of course, wooden boating is our roots,” Sayles said.
