| | NFIB opposes minimum wage increaseMarch 5, 2013 - Chris MorrisHere's the first a few posts this afternoon. Mike Durant, New York state director of the National Federation of Independent Business, issued a statement today opposing a proposed increase to New York's minimum wage. "An increase in the minimum wage is being debated at both the Federal level and as part of the State budget negotiations, making the damaging action today by the Assembly presumptuous," he said. "Small business, especially those in upstate New York, cannot afford a mandated increase in labor costs. "This simple fact continues to be ignored by the Speaker. NFIB strongly urges the Governor and Senate to maintain the path to lowering the costs of doing business and helping small business provide more for their communities and employees. This action and the continued economic agenda driven by the Speaker do neither." Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
