Saratoga newspaper endorses Owens

November 2, 2012 - Chris Morris
The Saratogian endorsed U.S. Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, for re-election in New York's 21st Congressional District today.

The campaign news is flying in fast today, so I'm just going to post these press releases and let you digest them for yourself:

Today, Congressman Bill Owens received the endorsement of The Saratogian in his bid for New York's 21st Congressional District.

"I appreciate the support we have received in Saratoga County and all across the new 21st congressional district," said Owens. "It has been a pleasure to meet so many new people and businesses, and discuss ways we can work together to create jobs."

The Saratogian's endorsement noted that Bill Owens "has proven to be a political moderate who can represent diverse interests and get things done. His support for a renewed federal Farm Bill is a case in point of special interest to the dairy farms in this heavily agricultural district. You can read the full endorsement here.

Earlier this week, Congressman Owens received the endorsement of the Albany Times Union. In addition, Owens has received support from local and national leaders of all political stripes, including Governor Andrew Cuomo, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Moriah Town Supervisor Tom Scozzafava (R-NY) and Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward (R-NY). Owens endorsements also include the National Rifle Association (NRA), 1199 SEIU, NYSUT, USW, and the National Farmers Union (NFU), among others.
