Doheny camp responds to DCCC ad

September 25, 2012 - Chris Morris
This statement just came in from Matt Doheny spokesman Jude Seymour in response to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's new television spot, which goes after the Watertown businessman on Medicare. You can check out that ad in my previous post.

"Bill Owens' Washington friends are lying about Matt Doheny's position on Medicare in a shameful attempt to scare and confuse voters," Seymour said in an email. "As Matt made clear in his 'Bipartisan Ideas on Preserving Medicare,' he does not support Paul Ryan's Medicare plan. He believes that seniors should be able to keep traditional Medicare if that's what works for them. And he wants to improve on the Medicare Advantage program, which is used by more than 40,000 seniors in this district.

"This is nothing more than a desperate ploy by Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee to distract voters from the fact that 5,000 more people are unemployed now in Bill Owens' district than when he first took over. Voters should hold him accountable for that terrible record on Nov. 6," Seymour added.
