| | U.S. Chamber of Commerce backs DohenyJuly 16, 2012 - Chris MorrisThe U.S. Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Watertown Republican Matt Doheny. "It is the Chamber's goal to help elect a pro-business majority in Congress and work diligently in support of the interests of businesses large and small to advance legislation that encourages economic growth, job creation and a less intrusive federal government," the organization's president, Thomas Donohue, said in a letter to Doheny. "We believe that your election to the U.S. House of Representatives will help produce sustained economic growth, help create more jobs and get our country back on track." Doheny is one of two candidates challenging U.S. Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, in the Nov. 6 election. The other is Green Party candidate Don Hassig of Colton. Doheny's name will appear on the Republican, Conservative and Independence party lines.
