| | Times Union on rail-trail debateJuly 16, 2012 - Chris MorrisThe Albany Times Union newspaper is reporting on the rail-trail debate, too. "A debate over miles of decaying railroad tracks in the heart of the Adirondacks has spawned dueling studies, with advocates of removing the tracks for a recreational trail releasing a report Wednesday that claims the project could pay for itself and draw tens of thousands of new visitors," reporter Brian Nearing wrote in a story published last week. This story doesn't cover very much new ground, but it is further proof that the debate over the Remsen-Lake Placid Rail Corridor is gaining attention outside of the Tri-Lakes region and the Adirondack Park.
