| | Ag commish to present state budgetFebruary 21, 2012 - Chris MorrisDarrel Aubertine, commissioner of the state Department of Agriculture and Markets, will be in Saranac Lake tomorrow to present Gov. Andrew Cuomo's proposed budget for 2012-13. Aubertine and other department heads have made similar presentations throughout the state as part of an effort to bring the budget to the people. In fact, state Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens did the same presentation in Lake Placid a few weeks ago. The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. in the board room at the Harrietstown Town Hall, which is located downstairs near the Assessor's Office. It's being hosted by the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by Cape Air and Guide Boat Realty. You'll need to RSVP with the Chamber as soon as possible: info@saranaclake.com, or call 518-891-1990. If you can't make it, just check out the story I linked to at the top of this post -- this event will be fairly similar to the presentation Martens did in Lake Placid.
