How can I concentrate on writing now?

January 20, 2012 - Jessica Collier
It's been quite a day.

With all the comments and all the reactions and all the topics discussed, it's hard to sit down and write a coherent story.

Since I haven't actually posted it on this blog yet, the final vote was 10 yes, 1 no. There was a huge round of applause after the vote was declared a victory. There was a lot of handshaking, and even quite a few tears of joy.

But not everyone is happy, obviously. David Gibson of Adirondack Wild said he was upset by the congratulatory feeling in the room, amongst the agency staff and commissioners especially.

But the unhappy voices aren't nearly as loud today as the happy ones. Many Tupper Lakers are blowing up Facebook with ecstatic reactions, expressing excitement about our town's future.

Stories are also appearing on a number of news sites from here to Albany and back. There were three TV station crews in Ray Brook, and others that did stories remotely, and I'm getting tons of alerts about people running the AP story.

I did end up doing that interview by phone with the Watertown TV station. You can see it here. I was pretty nervous, so I was even less eloquent on that broadcast than I was on WNBZ this morning.

Alright, now I need to focus and write some stories.

I hope everyone who goes has fun tonight at All Good Things. I can't make it, but Chris Morris from the Enterprise will be there, so say hi to him.
