Bad news, everyone! Plus free postcards

As I was looking at the dates for December's APA meeting last week, I realized I will be on vacation during that time.

Tragic! I know you're all going to be very sad, and I'm sure you'll miss me horribly. If you want a postcard from San Diego, email me or comment on this blog post with your mailing address and I promise I'll send you one. Seriously, I will. I'm not even joking.

But anyway, that means that Chris Knight, the Enterprise's typical APA reporter, will have to cover the meetings for me. Having someone different cover the meeting will be hard in some ways. He didn't sit through every second of the 19-day adjudicatory hearing like I did, so he doesn't have the in-depth background that I do. Chris has covered the ACR before, though — he did plenty of that before he came to the Enterprise, and he's filled in for me a few times on it since he's been here, so he definitely is familiar with the basics!

And I think it will be good in a way, because sometimes when you're too close to an issue you lose a little bit of perspective on it.

I think the worst thing will be for me, knowing that something important is going on at home while I'm sitting on a beach, soaking up the rays with a cocktail in my hand. Seriously, that will be really hard for me. Again, not joking. OK, maybe a little bit this time. But I will watch the videos from the meetings as soon as I get home and catch up on what I missed!
