Update on planning board vote

November 15, 2011 - Jessica Collier
I've been getting a lot of questions about the planning board vote on their reply brief.

There was, in fact, a re-vote at a special meeting two days after the board first voted on the brief at its regular October meeting.

There were questions about Don Dew Jr.'s vote, since when he first started on the board he said he'd be recusing himself from ACR hearing issues as a party to the hearing.

But the board re-voted two days later, got enough votes to pass the resolution, and Dew recused himself.

Here's the meeting minutes from the six-minute-long Oct. 21 special meeting:

"The board revoted on final submission of the rebuttal brief to be submitted to the Adirondack Park Agency regarding the Adirondack Club and Resort. Kirk Gagnier added a couple changes to the brief. On page 11 the word 'will' was changed to 'should', and the word 'immediately' was omitted. Mr. Gagnier added that the final submission would include all citations. Mr. Collier made a motion to approve the reply brief in its entirety which was seconded by Mr. Peets and carried 4-0. Mr. Dew Jr. recused himself from the vote."
